Charging cryptocurrencies with drug-related deaths is comparable to accusing Windows of causing terrorism because terrorists are using Microsoft’s operating system to store documents on how to make bombs.
He also raised concerns about the negative consequences of the anonymity feature of cryptocurrencies, namely money laundering, tax evasion and terrorism funding.Īs the creator of the most successful operating system in history, Bill Gates should know better than anyone that a piece of software (or in the case of cryptocurrencies, a payment system based on a new technology) cannot be blamed for the use someone makes of it. Gates was of course referring to the fact that cryptocurrencies facilitate the purchase of illegal substances on the black market, which sometimes leads to drug-related deaths. I kept on searching for the physical copy (to no avail) and snapped up the Digital Deluxe Edition, which I did yesterday. In a Q&A session on Reddit last week, Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates accused cryptocurrencies of causing “deaths in a fairly direct way,” leading to headlines such as this: “Bill Gates says crypto-currencies cause deaths.” Still bummed out to see all these unplayable characters. Gameplay is the core of these things anyway, and if it's a win in that regard, the rest wouldn't matter as much. And yeah, the unmistakeable Dead or Alive gameplay. Still cool to play 8th generation console Kasumi and the rest, with level of graphics that is undeniably an improvement, much as the design is another matter entirely. Yet as always, it's the fully realized characters of Dead or Alive that stand out - easily the franchise's most underrated aspect. The common denominator being it was taking too much memory space (60+ GB for something that was utterly bereft of content - and all of that so I can keep on collecting costumes?!?). However, I ended up deleting DOA 6 Core Fighters twice: first because the 'S' button is so weird and I couldn't even play Hayabusa, Ayane or Hayate, then second because I grew weary of it. in matters of artistic expression, so DOA 6 just looked distressing to me.Įventually, I gave this a try because this seems to be the installment that everyone is playing. I'm automatically repulsed by self-censorship, esp. There was also the bad PR about how this was neutered and self-censored due to the pressures of the w0k3 mob. Doesn't help that I saw a video prior, comparing the characters in DOA 5 vs DOA 6 and showing how DOA 6 was kinda lacking and didn't have the vibrancy of the former.
This one, I held off for nearly two years. I think I ordered and got the physical copy the next day, after trying it out and playing it for hours. I seeked DOA 5: LR, instead, after having an extremely good impression of it through Core Fighters.
I did go back and forth with it, starting with the missed opportunity to buy the physical copy back in 2020, when the PS4 version was ubiquitous. To do otherwise means I'm left out, and stuck with the older installments. I'm so far into being a Dead or Alive fan that I just gotta have it.
Aside from the fact it's the Dead or Alive game for the eigth generation of consoles. The signature intuitive controls and gameplay are what keeps me drawn to it. Once I got past all its many, many flaws, I dug it.
